About Us
Simone Crause, the founder and owner of Perfect Move, has been dancing since the age of five.
From the very beginning, the dance studio became her second home – a place where she could express herself, challenge herself, connect with others and, most importantly, feel completely at
home.
Dance has always been a family affair for Simone. Her parents taught ballroom dancing together before having children, and her older sister began dancing from a young age. Simone naturally followed in her sister’s footsteps, initially exploring gymnastics and hip hop before discovering her passion for Modern and Contemporary dance.
She later expanded her training into RAD Ballet and Tap. From a young age, Simone developed a deep yearning to perform. The stage became a place where she could shine her light, express her creativity and share her love of movement with an audience. She completed her AIDT examinations in Modern and Hip Hop and went on to complete her Solo Performers examinations in both disciplines, earning prestigious performance diplomas — an achievement that relatively few dancers attain. But alongside her love of performing, Simone discovered another passion: teaching and working with children.
She began teaching dance at just 15 years old and has never stopped. Over the years, she has discovered that her greatest joy lies not only in teaching students how to dance, but in helping them discover what they are capable of. Simone believes that dance is about so much more than technique, choreography and performance ( although all are important).
To her, a dance studio should be a safe space, somewhere students can step away from the stresses and challenges of everyday life and dedicate time to themselves. A place where they feel seen, heard and valued, while being encouraged to grow both as dancers and as people. Her goal is to empower every student who walks through the studio doors to believe that they are capable of achieving anything they put their mind to — whether that dream is within the world of dance or beyond it.
Simone is a qualified AIDT teacher in Hip Hop and Modern and is currently continuing her certification in Tap through the same association. She has also completed her Advanced Ballet examinations through the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). Since leaving school, Simone has made it a priority to continually educate herself and expand her knowledge of both the dance and teaching industries. Her own professional career has taken her across stages both locally and internationally. She has performed alongside renowned artist ,Seal, as well as for major brands including Standard Bank and Coca-Cola, among many others.
Her professional dance experience has seen her take on a wide variety of roles and styles. She has performed with the Mzansi Ballet company and appeared on stages as a showgirl, Bollywood dancer, Hip Hop performer, ballerina and fire dancer, among many other performance roles. Each experience has contributed to her versatility as a performer and deepened her understanding of the industry she now shares with her students.
In more recent years, Simone has also developed a passion for sustainable fitness, strength and movement. Working alongside Aletta Babaya, she further explored the world of fitness and wellness before eventually taking over Tonic Barre & Pilates Studio, where she teaches Sculpt and Barre classes.
Today, Simone continues to learn, grow and challenge herself. She believes that there is always more to discover, more to learn and more knowledge to shareThrough Perfect Move Studios, Simone’s vision is simple: To create a space where people can move, grow, perform, connect and believe in themselves.
Because for Simone, dance isn’t simply something you learn.
It’s something you feel.
It’s something that empowers you.
And it’s something that can change the way you see yourself and the world around you.
Syllabi that we follow
AIDT
The Association of International Dance Teachers (AIDT) is an established dance organisation and examining body dedicated to providing quality dance education and structured training for dancers of all ages and abilities.
AIDT offers carefully developed syllabi in disciplines including Modern/Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and other dance styles, allowing students to progress through recognised levels as their technique and confidence develop.
The AIDT syllabus focuses not only on dance technique, but also on musicality, rhythm, performance quality, coordination, discipline and artistic expression. Students have the opportunity to participate in examinations and assessments, giving them clear goals and a sense of achievement as they progress through their dance training.
For teachers, AIDT provides a structured framework for teaching and ongoing professional development, helping educators build strong technical foundations while encouraging students to enjoy and express themselves through dance.
PACRODA
PACRODA (Performance Acro Dance Affiliation) combines the artistry and creativity of dance with the strength, flexibility, balance and skill of acrobatics.
The PACRODA approach provides dancers with a progressive pathway for developing acrobatics safely and effectively, beginning with foundational movements and building towards more advanced skills. Students work on areas such as flexibility, strength, balance, tumbling, control and body awareness.
A key feature of acro dance is learning how to incorporate these skills into dance movement and choreography, allowing dancers to develop both their technical ability and their performance quality.
PACRODA training encourages dancers to build confidence, strength and versatility while learning to execute acrobatic movements with control, technique and artistry. It is an exciting discipline for dancers who enjoy combining expressive dance with challenging physical skills.
Vaganova
The Vaganova Method is one of the world’s most influential approaches to classical ballet training. Developed by Russian ballet teacher Agrippina Vaganova, the method combines elements of the French, Italian and Russian ballet traditions into a systematic approach to developing strong, expressive and technically accomplished dancers.
Vaganova training places particular emphasis on correct body placement, posture, coordination, strength, flexibility, musicality, port de bras and the harmonious use of the entire body. Dancers are taught to understand how the arms, legs, head and upper body work together to create both technical precision and artistic expression.
The method follows a carefully structured progression, allowing dancers to develop their skills as they mature physically and technically. Alongside demanding technical training, Vaganova ballet encourages musicality, artistry, discipline, confidence and individual expression. The Vaganova tradition is closely associated with the historic Vaganova Ballet Academy in St Petersburg, one of the world’s renowned institutions for classical ballet training.
Our Approach to Performance, Competitions & Exams
We believe dance is about more than learning steps. It is about building confidence, creating memories, developing friendships and enjoying the experience of dancing.
Stage Performance
Our goal is for every student to have the opportunity to perform at least once a year. Our end-of year showcase gives students the chance to perform on stage in a theatre while their families and friends come along to celebrate their achievements.
We believe stage experience is an important part of childhood from the excitement of getting ready backstage to performing alongside friends. It helps develop confidence, teamwork, focus and a sense of achievement, while creating memories that last a lifetime.
Competitions & Festivals
For students who are interested in taking their performance experience further, we may use our showcase choreography for competitions and festivals. Participation is optional and will depend on the student’s interest, age and readiness.
We also recognise that some students are naturally more competitive. We are happy to support these dancers and provide opportunities for them to challenge themselves, grow and work towards higher levels of performance.
At the same time, we proudly cater for students who see dance as a recreational activity — a place to have fun, make friends, stay active and enjoy dancing without the pressure of competition. There is a place for every dancer in our studio.
Exams & Assessments
Alongside performance training, our goal is to work towards approximately one dance examination per year, where appropriate for the student’s level and readiness.
Exams help dancers develop strong foundations in technique, posture, alignment, strength, flexibility, coordination and musicality. They are held at the studio, with all details communicated to parents well in advance.
Exams are not compulsory, but we strongly encourage them as they provide students with valuable technical training and a sense of achievement.
Our Philosophy
Every dancer develops at their own pace. Whether your child dreams of competing, loves performing on stage, or simply wants to dance for fun, we aim to create a positive, supportive and encouraging environment where every student can grow and develop a lifelong love of dance.

I am currently working towards becoming an A.I.D.T modern teacher so that I can offer even more to my incredible dancers.
